This must-attend event for new members and first-time attendees
was small on speeches and big on allowing participants to get
to know each other through interactive, roundtable discussions,
where veteran ACTE member leaders were on hand to answer
questions, discuss hot issues, and ensure both new members
and first-time attendees got the most out of their conference
experience and ACTE Membership (see photo gallery below).
Almost all of the new member and first-time attendees who
participated in the orientation and reception stated that they
attended the conference and joined ACTE because of the high
quality educational programmes delivered throughout the
year and the valuable networking opportunities that are
afforded them on both a local/regional and a global level.
Some of the hot issues that were discussed at each of the
roundtables included data privacy, low cost carriers, distribution,
technology, offshore outsourcing, changing role of the travel
manager, visa waiver programme, and consolidation.
Participants then had the chance to drill down deeper on these
Issues throughout the conference in educational sessions,
roundtables, keynote presentations, interactive lunch breaks and
the Technology & Business Process Showcase.
