-- Nothing is more welcome to the business traveler than a new product or system designed to cut down on time unnecessarily lost to the travel process. When first proposed to the industry nearly five years ago, the Registered Traveler program offered enhanced security with speedier lines at the airport. The Association of Corporate Travel Executives promptly endorsed the concept, and waited for the finished product.
While ACTE supports the concept of a Registered Traveler Program , the operating model has raised a number of serious questions. To date, ACTE members have inquired about:
• A resolution process for travelers denied access to the program (essential to eliminate additional corporate security concerns)
• Increased surveillance or airport security for those denied by the program to inclusion on the “No-Fly” list
• The disposition of personal information if a subscriber withdraws from the program
• The value of service provided if separate lines are not incorporated for Registered Traveler subscribers at major airports
Just recently, The Business Travel Coalition raised the point that there is no process for refunding companies with hundreds of travelers, in the event the program is compromised or suspended.
ACTE and the BTC are currently compiling a document of industry concerns that will cover every aspect of the Registered Traveler Program . Your insight will add an invaluable dimension to this project, and help to shape a seamless and well-implemented Registered Travel Program
I strongly urge you to go to
http://www.AdvancedSurvey.com/default.asp?SurveyID=45423
And list any questions that you may have regarding service, security, privacy, and economic impact aspects of the Registered Travel Program. Far from the standard industry survey, this poll asks you to submit questions that you want answered. Your questions, concerns and/or observations will be presented to the TSA, RT service providers, and the business travel industry as a joint report by ACTE and the BTC.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Susan Gurley
