For the many corporations affected by the current business climate, an obvious question is again how to obtain stronger control over one of the largest spend categories, namely business travel. Companies have communicated further plans to reduce business trips, cut travel budgets and tighten travel policies.

The objective of this event is to provide delegates with the basic economic tools needed to understand the current financial crisis and its implications on business travel, but also to stimulate discussion of best practices and taking advantage of the opportunity for change in travel management and procurement processes.

   • How it is impacting the wider economy and the business travel industry

   • Budget control through Management Information and Payment systems

During this session results will be shared of a recent industry survey which was developed to assess the impact of the recent financial/economic crisis within the context of the corporate travel department and assess the impact through examination of the changes in practices, policy and compliance within travel programmes.
