ACTE FOR CHANGE NOW

JOIN THE DRIVE FOR POSITIVE CHANGES TO IATA REGULATIONS

CURRENT IATA REGUALTIONS ARE COSTING YOUR COMPANY MONEY

International Air Transport Association regulations - some dating back to 1945 - are defeating the spirit of borderless travel and driving up the cost of doing business in the European Union. Outdated IATA regulations are preventing companies from taking full advantage of new efficiencies in distribution and technology. The cost of this regulatory inefficiency is estimated at millions of euros a year. (For a thorough overview of the impact of IATA regulations read ACTE's 'Regulating Efficiency - A Perspective'.)

The ACTE IATA Task Force has developed a multifaceted plan to expedite the following changes to IATA regulations:

  • The creation of a Europe-wide BSP,
  • Simplified travel agent accreditation on a Europe-wide company basis not by location,
  • The ability to book, fulfill, settle, and receive tickets anywhere within the EU,
  • Complete availability of fares and transparency on tickets,
  • Binding Service Level Agreements between agents and airlines,
  • Ongoing formal collaboration with associations representing corporate buyers to identify and remove obstacles inhibiting efficiency.
