I recently became involved in ACTE's initiative to drive toward positive changes in today's IATA regulations. Using a sample financial case study from the ACTE website, I determined that IATA's outmoded regulations are adding thousands of euros to my company's operating costs every year. This got my attention especially since the technology to remove this inefficiency exists today. It is only the IATA regulations that must change.

Travel management companies have been trying for years to convince IATA to change their regulations, unfortunately with little progress to date. IATA will only change when there is pressure from their members, the airlines. And the airlines will only respond to pressure from the marketplace. That is us - the major purchasers of air travel.

I urge you to become more familiar with this issue and its impact on your organization. ACTE has put together an initiative called 'ACTE For Change Now'. It lays out a program to expedite these much needed changes to IATA regulations. But it will only succeed if we all get involved.
