Dear Members and Industry Colleagues,

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) would like to applaud the resilience of our industry. Despite the current economic restraints, ACTE members and business travel professionals from all parts of the world have displayed commendable resolve in reaching out to each other to meet new challenges head on.

In response to the voices of our members and industry leaders, ACTE has a redirected focus. We will no longer hold the 2001 Global Conference in Munich, Germany. ACTE will now focus on providing the same educational opportunities of a conference through practical venues. We will bring the worldwide business travel community together by hosting a series of regional and web-based seminars, allowing business travel professionals to have access to education and networking that is convenient and cost effective.

The first of the Regional Summit series will be launched on October 4th and will be offered to ACTE members at no charge. The results of these intensive programs will be shared with participants of other sessions throughout the world. Aware of the importance of timely information, ACTE also hosts a newly designed Web site to serve as a constantly updated news source for issues pertinent to business travel professionals. "The Washington Update", the first in an upcoming library of Web-based seminars is currently available on the ACTE site.

To reaffirm our pledge to be the most dependable resource in the industry, ACTE will also take an in depth look at our globally distributed publications. We will assure that business travel professionals will consistently have valuable literature on evolving industry issues.

ACTE is committed to the livelihood of the global business travel community. Our structure is therefore designed to be nimble enough to respond quickly to changing industry demands. Without the input and determination of its members and industry leaders, ACTE would not have been able to coordinate these efforts. We intend to maintain this momentum and flexibility and encourage business travel professionals to continue to communicate their needs. If there is anything that ACTE has not yet provided, please let us know so that we may deliver programs and services that offer the most value.

The last couple of weeks have proven that there is no greater strength than a community effort. The ACTE Officers and Board of Directors encourage ACTE members to actively engage in all efforts that will result in a revitalized travel industry and a robust global economy. ACTE is confident that by working together our community will be even stronger than before.

Thank you for your support,
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives
