ACTE Announces A New Focus
(Alexandria, Virginia, USA , October 2, 2001) - The Association
of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), an international organization
composed of senior level travel management professionals and suppliers
of business travel services, has announced that in response to
the voices of members and industry leaders it will no longer hold
the 2001 Global Conference in Munich, Germany. "ACTE will now
focus on providing the same educational opportunities of a conference
through practical venues," said ACTE President Ron Wagner. "ACTE
will bring the worldwide business travel community together by
hosting a series of regional and web-based seminars that will
allow business travel professionals to have access to education
and networking that is convenient and cost effective."
The first of the Regional Summit series will be launched on October
4th and will be offered to ACTE members at no charge. The results
of these intensive programs will be shared with participants of
other sessions throughout the world. Aware of the importance of
timely information, ACTE also hosts a newly designed Web site
to serve as a constantly updated news source for issues pertinent
to business travel professionals. "The
Washington Update", the first in an upcoming library of Web-based
seminars is currently available on the ACTE site and has already
solicited a great deal of positive feedback.
ACTE
will also take an in depth look at the globally distributed publications,
ACTE Quarterly and ACTE Update to assure that business travel
professionals will consistently have valuable literature on evolving
industry issues.
By
taking new steps to assure that business travel professionals
can communicate effectively in a changed environment, ACTE hopes
that industry participants will share knowledge, develop insight
and reach solutions to return the travel industry to efficiency
and profitability.
Ron Wagner stated, "The ACTE Officers and Board of Directors encourage
ACTE members to actively engage in all efforts that will result
in a revitalized travel industry and a robust global economy."
ACTE is confident that by working together our community will
be even stronger than before.
Founded in
1988, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives is the only
organization wholly dedicated to the science of business travel
management with an international constituency. ACTE membership totals
more than 2,400, including entities in Asia, Europe, Canada and
the United States. The organization is headquartered in Alexandria,
Va., and its web site is www.acte.org.
