ACTE PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
Ranking Travel Executives Drawn To Sao Paulo For Summit
Sao Paulo, Brasil (May 23) -- Issues critical to corporate growth and profitability are drawing ranking executives from throughout the Americas to an executive forum on June 9, 2005 hosted by the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), an international education organization. Advanced procurement techniques, technological solutions to distribution problems, commission reductions, and how to most effectively conduct business in China are four areas in which companies can trim millions from their business travel budgets while boosting frequency and value.
Jose Carlos Roman, Supply Chain Manager, ACCOR, will integrate textbook and practical experience into an animated discussion on practices that streamline the procurement process and improve efficiencies for the sourcing of business travel. A panel of renowned industry authorities, Ubiratan da Motta, Director, Portal e-tam, TAM Airlines; Aitor Marin, Head of Competence Center - Latin America, e-travel, Amadeus Online Solutions; and Michael Premo, Senior Vice President, Latin America, TQ3 Travel Solutions, will systematically identify GDS challenges and propose the best technological solutions. The discussion will be moderated by Marco Guardia, Latin America Travel Operations Manager, IBM.
The change from a commission structure to fee-based agreements is redefining the approach to travel management (and upper management's expectations) for companies around the world. AndrŽ Carvalhal, CFO and Manager of Industry Relations, Carlson Wagonlit Travel - Brasil and Luciano Sacramone Brunherotto, General Manager, Administrative Services, Santander Banespa (ranked 46th in Forbes top 100 companies) will discuss how to best manage this important change from the travel management company and corporate buyer perspective, with a strong emphasis on the global trend of complete transparency in travel purchasing.
The final presentation -- Doing Business in China -- was developed in response to an overwhelming increase in trade between Brasil and China. Titus Liu, Business Manager, Brasil-China Chamber of Economic Development, will speak on the cultural bridges that now facilitate conducting business in his country and the best way to access them.
The curricula for this event represents ACTE's commitment to international education. With faculty from across North and South America, this event will address global challenges presenting themselves in the Brazilian market and give each attendee the information and insight he or she needs to face them head on.
