Look at any newspaper or listen to any news program today and there is sure to be a story about data protection and security. It’s an issue that affects everyone, but particularly the international business traveler who has little or no control over how their personal information is stored or disseminated globally or by whom.
Moderated by Dr. Stephen J. Kobrin, Professor of Multinational Management at the Wharton School - the University of Pennsylvania, and a leading expert on data privacy, this high-profile panel session could not be more timely or relevant to current events.
The issues under discussion will be: How the European Union deals with data protection and security issues in relationship to the U.S., passenger/consumer impacts and future risks. The interactive discussion will also focus upon practical advice to the business travel community from the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other panel members, as well as discuss the impact key economic security issues have upon the business travel industry.
Dr. Kobrin has served as President of the Academy of International Business, Chair of the International Division of the Academy of Management, and the Fulbright Awards Disciplinary Advisory Committee in Business Administration. He is active in Executive Education, currently serving as Academic Director of the Shanghai Municipal Government Executive Development Program. In addition, he was a Fellow of the World Economic Forum from 1994 to 2007, and a Reporter for the 2003 Annual Meeting.
