Strategic management of Indirect spend has become a priority given the report that these categories account for 35 percent of corporate expenditure. Companies are constantly looking for cost control opportunities and reviews include the travel category . Hotel rates have made an impressive climb in 2007 and hotel executives are forecasting even more upside. In this session hotel managers present what room rates are likely to be in 2008 and highlight some non-negotiable areas for new contracts. Part of the reason for tough rate negotiations stems from the high opportunity cost of real estate leading asset managers to critically assess the attractiveness the hotel business ROI. What realistic expectations should corporate travel buyers and hoteliers hold on to and what are their ideas of realistic room rates?
