10:30 – 11:15
This session examined those opportunities for cost savings in corporate hotel spend that are underutilized as well as elements that add to the cost.  Adherence to the hotel component of corporate travel policy will come under the microscope first, to focus on the potential savings that are being lost through non-compliance and how hotels and travel managers can work together towards increasing this area of policy compliance through distribution channels and initiatives such as eFolio.  The discussion also provided a better understanding of the economics and future trends of the hotel business that gives buyers insight into what is important to the hoteliers, thus enabling travel managers to put forward a buying strategy that will optimize spend in their next round of hotel negotiations.
