Rama Bijapurkar

Rama Bijapurkar is one of India's most respected thought leaders on market strategy and consumer related issues in India. She is also a keen commentator on social and cultural changes in the evolving liberalizing India. She has her own market strategy consulting practice and works with an impressive list of Indian and global companies, guiding the development of their business-market strategies. She describes her mission as bringing "market focus to business strategy".

Rama serves as an independent director on the boards of Infosys Technologies, CRISIL, Axis Bank, Godrej Consumer Products, ENIL (Radio Mirchi), Give Foundation (a not-for-profit company), Subhiksha Trading Services Ltd. and Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd.

An alumna of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Rama continues to be involved with her alma mater where she is a Visiting Faculty and also serves on the Board of Governors.

Rama's work experience has been in market research and strategy consulting and includes leadership positions with McKinsey & Company, MARG (now AC Nielsen India), and full time consulting with Hindustan Lever (now Hindustan Unilever India).

Her new book "We are like that only - Understanding the Logic of Consumer India", (The Indian edition, Penguin) has been well received and very favourably reviewed. The international edition is called "Winning in the Indian Market - Understanding the Transformation of Consumer India", (John Wiley & Sons).

Eric Conrad

Eric Conrad leads IBM’s Travel & Transportation Industry, comprising Air, Travel Related Services, Freight & Logistics, and Rail. Across his 23 year career, the last 12 of which have been in Asia Pacific, Eric has gained extensive, direct, experience in creating business value for Travel & Transportation clients, working across the United States and in many Asian economies such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Australia, and India.

With major clients such as Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Qantas, Korean Airlines and others, Eric has been able to create significant client benefits through major multi-year partnerships with IBM focused upon technology-driven transformation. His transformation work has effectively linked strategic planning to business and operational planning, all the way through to technology deployment.

In addition to his work with major airlines worldwide, Eric has also contributed to the success of many Freight & Logistics companies, including Hutchison Port Holdings, Hanjin Shipping, DHL, Singapore Airlines, United States Postal Service. He has also worked with key Government transportation authorities such as the Hong Kong Port Maritime Board, Hong Kong Transport Department, and Malaysia Ministry of Transport to bring about change in the Freight & Logistics Industry.

Prior to joining the legacy PwC Consulting practice in 1995, Eric was Director of Operations with Aquarion Water Company in the United States. He began his career in 1983 with Avon Products, Inc., where over a period of six years, he gained significant experience in Freight & Logistics, holding increasingly senior positions in Avon’s automation and process control development group for manufacturing and distribution.

Eric has an MBA in International Business (1st in Class) from the University of Connecticut, USA. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) from the University of Delaware, also in the USA.

Stephen Frost

Stephen Frost is one of the founders and a director of CSR Asia. He is also an assistant professor at the Department of Asian and International Studies at the City University of Hong Kong.

Stephen Frost has been working on corporate social responsibility in China and Southeast Asia for a decade, with a focus on labour issues, such as health and safety, labour laws, supply chains and codes of conduct. He is widelympublished on labour standards, auditing, CSR in supply chains, and has worked with numerous companies on these issues in Asia, such as Adidas, Reebok, Nike, Disney, as well as with most of the major labour rights NGOs and trade unions. Internationally he is currently a consultant to HP, sitting on their external stakeholder committee.

He has conducted stakeholder dialogues and feedback sessions on various CSR reports (Nike, Adidas, HP), and sits on the “Expert Panel” for the Global Reporting Initiative’s labour indicators. He was part of the team writing the Swire Properties EHS Report and the 2006 Cathay Pacific CSR Report. ). He holds a PhD in Asian Studies from Murdoch University in Australia.

Mira is Regional Leader for Talent Management Consulting for ASEAN and a Senior Consultant with the Human Capital Group of Watson Wyatt Singapore, a leading global consulting firm on people and financial issues, headquartered in Washington DC. Mira consults in the areas of Human Capital Capability development. She leverages her extensive experience in both corporate and consulting capacities and to help organisations align people management with business strategy and develop strategic and tactical approaches to managing employees especially in the area of Talent Management. Mira has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of competency development, career & performance management systems, potential assessment, talent management, leadership development, succession planning and IT. She has coached leaders and facilitated learning for audiences at all levels including heads of organisations. Mira has worked with businesses in a variety of industries in the private and public sectors including information technology, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and finance across Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.

Prior to joining Watson Wyatt, Mira worked with a leading diversified Indian corporation as an internal consultant in the Corporate HR team, she was responsible for Leadership development across the corporation. She has also worked with a prominent Singapore statutory board on a major HR transformation project. Mira has an MBA from India’s top ranked Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad, and holds a First Class Bachelors of Arts degree majoring in Psychology from Bangalore University.
