Alexandria, VA -- Leaders from the Russian Business Travel Association (RBTA) and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) met at the ACTE Global Education Conference in Barcelona last week to discuss areas of mutual interest and the potential for joint educational programs. Yuri Sarapkin, Executive Vice President from the RBTA and Susan Gurley, ACTE’s Executive Director, agreed to collaborate in Russia with the first event to take place in March of 2007.
"This is a historic occasion for ACTE, Russia is a country with vast resources, growing consumer markets, and tremendous business potential," said Alisa Bornstein, ACTE Board Member and Managing Partner, Travelogica AB. "We are thrilled that RBTA and ACTE are collaborating together and look forward to participating in future education conferences."
The RBTA was established in 2000 as a platform for creating, implementing, and communicating business travel solutions. RBTA offers its members specific education and networking opportunities allowing them to share ideas and best practices.
ACTE’s executive director formally invited the RBTA to participate in a panel at the next ACTE Global Education Conference being held in Miami, Florida, May 6-8, 2007.
ACTE was founded in 1988 as the education and research resource for the global business travel profession. The association represents travel management executives, procurement specialists, travel management companies, and suppliers from every facet of the business travel industry. ACTE is best known for its studies (many produced in joint efforts with academia), surveys, and industry position statements.
