Atlanta, GA -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) is helping to launch Spotme technology, which is provided by Shockfish, to the U.S. corporate travel and meetings market as part of the organization's technology education program. The Founder of Shockfish, Banz Ledin, is attending the ACTE conference in Atlanta to meet with the Spotme users personally, such as Kelly Hart. Hart, who is the Managing Director of Multinational Sales at Continental Airlines, noted, "Spotme is a powerful meetings device that has facilitated my ability to find my customers and colleagues. I have saved time and built relationships."
Ledin had the idea for this technology in 1997, when as a Swiss literature student he observed how dogs would meet each other in the park and bring their owners together. This sparked his idea of developing an interactive communications device for single people to meet at cafes, parks, and bars.
Ledin shared his idea with a friend who introduced him to an engineer. Through the help of an engineering professor, Ledin and the engineer launched Spotme in 2000. Unlike his initial dream to use this to facilitate the meeting of singles, Spotme has become a critical tool for conference attendees. Through the Spotme technology, Shockfish has facilitated the networking of thousands of delegates at over 100 meetings throughout Europe. By partnering with ACTE, they are reaching their largest U.S. and international audience ever.
