Alexandria, VA -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) today appointed Patricia Rasore, a long-term ACTE member, as the organization's first Latin American Representative. According to an announcement by ACTE Executive Director
Susan Gurley, Rasore's appointment signifies the association's broadening commitment to serving
the business travel profession in this region.
"A sophisticated level of business travel management already exists throughout Latin America," said Gurley. "Our mission is to spotlight the best practices for this market and integrate them into our overall global educational agenda. This is essential to facilitate travel for companies coming into the area for the first time, and for Latin American companies looking to globalize their operations."
Gurley added that Patricia Rasore will play an import role in evaluating the educational requirements of ACTE members in the region, structuring a professional enrichment program to meet those requirements, and to serve as a primary conduit of ideas from ACTE's members to the industry.
Rasore will hit the ground running. ACTE's next educational event in South America is less than three weeks away ( Sao Paulo, Brazil, August 24, 2006), and will focus on creating value in the Brazilian Business Travel Market.
"The Sao Paulo forum will be my first opportunity to interact with ACTE members in the field," said Rasore. "I'm eager to demonstrate how their opinions and expertise share a direct line with 2,500 colleagues worldwide." Rasore's immediate assignment includes promoting the business travel management function by emphasizing the impact of best practices on cost containment and return on investment.
Prior to accepting the appointment from ACTE, Rasore was the Manager of Business Development for SYNERGI Inc. In previous capacities, she has worked for Sabre, United Airlines, British Airways in Buenos Aires, Iberia and Aerolineas Argentinas. In January 2002, Rasore opened the TAM Brazilian Airlines office in Vienna where she was responsible for Austria & Eastern European countries.
Patricia Rasore holds a Bachelors in Tourism degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. She speaks, Spanish, French, Italian, and German, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese. She is already working with our education team on the upcoming forums in Brazil and Mexico. Rasore will be based in Buenos Aires.
