For Immediate Release
15 March 2005
Singapore -- Singapore, Tuesday 15 March 2005 - ACTE has announced the theme for its Asia-Pacific Regional Conference taking place from 24-25 August in Singapore. Building on the success of three previous years' Training Workshops, the theme, Convergence & Emergence: Discovering New Competencies in Travel Management emphasises the need for its practitioners to consider how seemingly disparate developments in other disciplines can quickly become a major agenda for the business travel industry.
Among the conference's keynote speakers is Ms. Erna Witoelar, United Nation's Special Ambassador, MDG for Asia and the Pacific Region. Ms. Witoelar will present the UN's mission to ensure that globalization be a positive force and its call to corporations and its top executives to view their roles through new lenses.
Two other keynote presentations set to make major impressions on attendees with equally gripping topics "Convergence: What will Emerge?" and "The Next Strain". The first discusses the likely product of converging elements in business, culture, ideology and technology while the second examines the threat of a pandemic originating in Asia with a closer look at the interface between epidemiology and travel.
Other exciting developments include the introduction of two live media interviews in front of general session audiences. Two topics, two top business magazine editors and two panels will engage to discuss "Information: Speed, Mobility & Security" and "Radar: Asian MNCs & Travel Cost Reduction." The combination of these innovations is an Asia-Pacific Conference that will deliver the highest quality of professional education and development for travel management executives.
Adding more excitement to arguably the most exciting conference agenda for the region is the advantageous offer by Japan Airlines for corporate travel managers to fly round-trip on its Executive Class - Seasons from North America to Japan and Asia at $200 USD plus tax.
Full details of the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference will be announced in March.
