ACTE Welcomes New U.S. Representative to Key Position on Board of Directors

Alexandria, VA --

The result of elections for the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has been announced with Mary Bastrentaz Senior Director - Global Travel & Events Accenture being elected to the United States Representative seat.

Mary Bastrentaz, who was part of the ACTE 2010 Chicago Global Education Conference planning committee, will serve a three-year term from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013.

Regional Board members, who are the main liaison between the ACTE Regional Chair, ACTE members in that region, and the ACTE Board of Directors, drive strategy and growth in the region, provide leadership and guidance to the ACTE Regional Chair and ensure their region is aligned with ACTE’s overall strategy and goals.

Commenting on her appointment Bastrentaz said: “My style is one of collaboration and teamwork, and I encourage the sharing and exchange of ideas. This aligns with ACTE's goal of knowledge exchange for the advancement of the business travel industry. In representing the U.S. Region, I will listen carefully to the members, and then help raise the bar for higher standards of education within this industry."

Elections also took place for two other regional board seats – Europe and the Middle East & Africa.

Yves Galimidi, Global Travel Purchaser, IKEA is the new board member representative for Europe.

Roland Bunge, General Manager, Commercial, Kanoo Travel was voted onto the board as the representative for Middle East & Africa
