The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) – in conjunction with the Canadian Hospitality Foundation (CHF) – recently awarded $2,500 scholarships to two students. Noémie Robidoux and Cynthia Cole were selected for their high educational standing and their dedication to the industry.
More than 300 business travel executives congratulated Noémie Robidoux as part of the ceremonies at the ACTE Canada Education Conference in Calgary, November 7-9. This is the third year that the scholarships have been awarded by ACTE Canada, one to a student in the Western Region of Canada and the other to a student in the Eastern Region.
Representing the Western Region, Cynthia Cole is in her second year of the Travel and Tourism Program at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary. Cole is eager “to take flight in the tourism industry and put her hard work and education to use”. Noémie Robidoux, from the Eastern Region, is completing her second year of the Tourism Management Program at l’Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec. Robidoux would like to “start her career by travelling and learning about other cultures, eventually returning to work in Canada”.
“These students embody the spirit and enthusiasm of the next generation of industry leaders,” said Annemarie Reininger, ACTE Canada Board Member. “Their educational excellence is exceeded only by their commitment to a career in a profession that is ripe for change. These scholarships help ACTE further its goal to attract new talent to our industry.”
