Experts Reveal How to Take Networking Up a Notch, Stay Ahead of the Recovery Curve, and Avoid Common Business Mistakes at the 5th Annual ACTE Canada Education Conference

Everyone acknowledges the importance of effective networking, yet most of us have difficulty doing it. So claim networking experts Gayle Hallgren-Rezac and Judy Thomson, co-authors of the best-selling book Work the Pond!

In one of four informative and entertaining general sessions at the ACTE Canada Education Conference in Calgary (7-9 November), Hallgren-Rezac and Thomson will show even the most natural of communicators how to “take it up a notch” and successfully tackle challenging situations with style and confidence.

In another comprehensive and compelling presentation, business journalist and host of CBC’s Dragons’ Den Dianne Buckner will count down her top 10 business tips. From finance to human resource issues, marketing to common mistakes, Buckner will lead the audience through a range of challenges, employing the knowledge she has acquired over almost 20 years of observing hundreds of businesses of all types and sizes.

In a general session sub-titled “Trend Scoop”, Isaac J. Collazo, Vice President Performance Strategy and Planning for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will explain in his inimitably entertaining way how businesses can stay ahead of the curve when it comes to business travel trends. Focusing on future recovery, “fun numbers guy” Collazo will shed light on a number of key business travel indicators.

The 2010 ACTE Canada Education Conference will also host its own version of CBC’s ever-popular Dragons’ Den, with an event called Jackalope Crossing. Entrepreneurs and innovators have submitted a selection of new business travel-related ideas, products and services which they will present to fellow delegates in a session led by Dianne Buckner. Presenters will then be grilled, in typical Dragons’ Den style, and a winner selected.

The 5th Annual ACTE Canada Education Conference will provide an unrivalled networking hub for senior-level business travel professionals.
