At the forum, Jeff Holland, an executive with the Accenture Process and Innovation Performance consulting practice in Canada, will introduce the basic concepts of Lean Six Sigma and its application to travel management. Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that many companies use to increase operational effectiveness and limit redundant practices.
”Specifically, I’ll focus on the practical application of Lean Six Sigma, which can enable organizations to realize rapid results and long-term benefits,” said Holland. “When Lean Six Sigma is used correctly, we’ve seen companies realize cost savings by minimizing steps that tend to shorten service times, thereby contributing to customer satisfaction and ultimately the company’s bottom line.”
“The practical lessons taught during the session will be the catalyst for the success of this event,” according to Gillian McCormack, senior manager of Business Development, American Express Business Travel, and the ACTE Regional Chair. “By incorporating a hands-on component to the session, individuals will be able to work in small groups on issues relevant to their specific work environment. The take-away will be significant.”
