In her role as Chair, Farmer will continue to assure that regional activities are aligned with the mission and vision of the association -- delivering outstanding educational and networking programmes that are of value to ACTE members within the region.
“I´ve always had great respect for ACTE´s mission of providing senior level education and networking to the global travel community”, stated Farmer. “As a not-for-profit association with thousands of members throughout the globe, ACTE has been a true industry trendsetter by providing executive level education, encouraging networking, launching initiatives and being a voice for all industry stakeholders.”
Farmer will work closely with Meredith Smith, Travel Manager – APJ, Merck Global Travel Solutions (ACTE’s Asia-Pacific Board Representative) and members of the ACTE Asia-Pacific Regional Council including:
• Karina Harris, Regional Manager - Asia Pacific, BP Global Travel Services - Indirect Procurement
• Alison Taylor, Vice President – Sales, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Asia-Pacific
• Mike Bezer, Vice-President, Global Sales, Asia-Pacific, Carlson Wagonlit Travel
“ACTE relies heavily on the contribution of volunteers to make our educational programmes and member benefits pertinent to local markets,” Richard Crum, ACTE President, said. “We are thrilled to have Georgie serve a second term. Her insight into the Asia-Pacific marketplace and its needs is an invaluable asset for the continued success of our programmes throughout the region.”
Farmer is joined by newly appointed ACTE Regional Chair, Europe, Yves Galimidi, Global Travel Purchaser, IKEA; Imran Changezi, Director, Corporate Sales, Jumeirah Group, who was unanimously appointed to a second term as ACTE Regional Chair, Middle East & Africa; as well as Gillian McCormack, Manager, Business Development, American Express Business Travel (AXP), and Mario Hidalgo, Manager, Multinational Customers, Latin America, Amadeus, both currently serving in their second year as Regional Chair for ACTE in Canada and Latin America respectively.
