In his role as Chair, Changezi will continue to assure that regional activities are aligned with the mission and vision of the association -- delivering outstanding educational and networking programmes that are of value to ACTE members within the region.
“I am honored to work with ACTE and its members, and to continue in the role of Regional Chair, Middle East & Africa,” said Changezi. “I look forward to further expanding ACTE’s presence in the region and being a conduit to ACTE in identifying the needs of the membership and positively influence the business travel industry.”
The Regional Chair leads ACTE’s Middle East & Africa City Champion programme, which is made up of member volunteers and focuses on delivering outstanding educational programmes and benefits that provide value to ACTE members across the region. Current ACTE Middle East & Africa City Champions include:
• Johannesburg - Warren Tanner-Ellis, Group Travel Manager, MTN
• Cape Town - Belinda West, Central Procurement Manager, Woolworths
• Doha, Qatar - Hisham Elfil, Advisor – Support Services, Qatar Foundation
“ACTE relies heavily on the contribution of volunteers to make our educational programmes and member benefits pertinent to local markets,” Richard Crum, ACTE President, said. “We are thrilled to have Imran serve a second term. He is an invaluable asset to the development of our education curriculum and to the continued success of our programmes throughout the region.”
Changezi is joined by newly appointed ACTE Regional Chair, Europe, Yves Galimidi, Global Travel Purchaser, IKEA; Georgie Farmer, Asia Travel Manager, Microsoft Corporation (MSFT), who was also unanimously appointed to a second term as ACTE Regional Chair, Asia-Pacific; as well as Gillian McCormack, Manager, Business Development, American Express Business Travel (AXP), and Mario Hidalgo, Manager, Multinational Customers, Latin America, Amadeus, both currently serving in their second year as Regional Chair for ACTE in Canada and Latin America respectively.
