ACTE Elects Two New Members To Board of Directors and Announces Unprecedented Tie and Run-Off Election Between Two Others
Alexandria, VA --
Alexandria, VA (4 January 2010) — The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) today announced the election of two members to its Board of Directors — and an unprecedented tie between two others, representing some of the heaviest voting in the group’s 22-year history. Lutz Stammnitz, President of Corporate Mobility Services for Siemens AG and JoAnne Lloyd, Sourcing Director, Travel for InterContinental Hotels Group have each been named Board Members At-Large, and will serve a three-year term, commencing January 1, 2010, running through December 31, 2012.
Lutz Stammnitz, based in Germany, has pioneered a score of travel management innovations and processes in his direction of a program that exceeds €2.3 billion and serves more than 300,000 travelers. He was recently the recipient of ACTE’s “Advancing the Industry Award,” the association’s highest recognition for professional development and contributions to the travel management profession.
JoAnne Lloyd, based in the United Kingdom, has had a distinguished career in the business travel sector, including extensive experience in the agency, supplier and buyer segments of the industry. Prior to working for InterContinental, JoAnne served as the Regional Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa for ACTE and was the Manager, Global Sales Commercial Department for Qatar Airways.
"I would like to thank the outgoing Board members for all their support of ACTE over the past three years as well as all the individuals who ran for the ACTE Board during the most recent election," said association President Richard Crum. “I welcome Jo and Lutz as their diverse expertise will compliment the current ACTE Board and is what continues to set ACTE apart as a global association. The new Board members will play a vital role in determining the direction we take and the impact we'll have on critical issues over the next three years."
The tie vote was between Leigh Bochicchio, Vice President, Program Lead Multinational Corporate Program for MasterCard Worldwide and Eve Coven White, Vice President, Global Markets for HRG North America, and will result in a run-off election to be held 6 – 13 January 2010. All ACTE members in good standing will be eligible to vote in the run-off election. More information will be posted to the ACTE website and sent to ACTE’s international members shortly.
