Alexandria, VA -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) today announced the appointment of Cathrine Lundberg, Principal and Senior Consultant for CMM Consulting, as Country Champion for Sweden. Introduced in 2006, ACTE’s Country Champion program names leading travel professionals, with extensive knowledge about both the industry and the association, as designated ambassadors in key countries and cities throughout the world.
An 18-year veteran of the business travel management profession, Cathrine Lundberg is a consummate professional with a strong commitment to volunteering on a regional, national, and an international level. She has supported the Swedish Business Travel Association (SBTA) since its inception in 1983, serving as its Chair from 1997 to 2002. Cathrine is currently developing SBTA's education program, focusing on the SBTA Global Network which is a unique forum for Sweden's largest multi-national corporations. She was named one of the “Top 25 Executives” in the industry by Business Travel News in 1999.
Lundberg joined ACTE in 1997 and was a member of the Education Committee for a number of years, and has served on every planning committee for the association’s Executive Forums held in the Nordic countries. She was the recipient of the ACTE President’s Award in 2008.
“I accepted the volunteer Country Champion role since I have been acting as a country champion since 2002, both in my position chairing the SBTA role,” said Lundberg. “I see the benefits of international education and networking and have always thought it is a very important part of my work.”
ACTE Executive Director Susan Gurley thanked Lundberg for “officially” accepting the position, and for her years of supporting the association in its endeavors in the Nordic countries, and in Europe. “Cathrine Lundberg is the personification of a business travel industry leader, and a dedicated professional who understands the importance of sharing her knowledge with others. We are proud to have her as a member, and her support as our newest Country Champion.”
