Alexandria, VA --
In the last year, according to Richard Crum, Chair, ACTE Global Centre for Research and Education, ACTE Connect has had over 16,000 searches, averaging approximately 2,000 searches per month. More than 900 documents, white papers, and reports are currently housed on the site. ACTE Connect is the first one-stop resource for the business travel industry’s intellectual capital, research and best practices. ACTE Connect has become the most popular online feature (among those offered by the association) for travel managers, suppliers, analysts, educators and writers. It is a free and open resource to all – not just ACTE members.
“We are gratified that ACTE Connect has continued its momentum in the last year, and has quickly become the resource of record for the business travel industry,” said Crum. “According to our statistics, 66 percent of unique visitors are corporate travel buyers, indicating a strong need for quality industry research and materials. With the support of the industry, we will continue to add meaningful content to the site.”
The top three search categories were “best practices,” “industry trends,” and “travel policy.” “Best practices” was the number one search category in Europe and the U.S., “industry trends” held the top interest spot in Asia-Pacific, Canada and Latin America, while Middle East & Africa opted for “travel policy.” The most common search words used by one third of the systems subscribers were “Rome Education Conference,” “Asia-Pacific Education Conference” and “GDS.” All presentations and white papers delivered at the ACTE Global Education Conference in Washington, D.C., 5-7 April, will be posted to ACTE Connect.
The highest hit-count by region was from Europe (40 percent), followed by the United States (32 percent), Asia-Pacific (27 percent), Europe (13 percent), Middle East & Africa (7 percent), Canada (4 percent), and Latin America (3 percent). An initial analysis of users indicates that the core users were travel managers (66 percent), followed by suppliers (14 percent), agency (16 percent), and press (2 percent). Forty-six percent of the searches were from non-members, while 62 percent of searches by corporates were from non-members.
Research is continuously refreshed by buyers, suppliers, TMCs, consulting firms, ACTE partners, research organizations, government agencies and academia. Eighty percent of these documents are less than a year old, and more than 30 percent are less than three months old. Commercial messages are not accepted.
