Twelve-year veteran hotel industry professional Meredith Owen, Travel Manager – APJ, Merck Global Travel Services, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE). Owen began her career in Australia working for more than nine years for Hyatt Hotels in both Queensland and Melbourne at Hyatt Regency Coolum, Grand Hyatt Melbourne and Park Hyatt Melbourne. She then joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts as pre-opening Revenue Manager for The Westin Melbourne, relocating to Sydney as Revenue Manager ba
In late 2002, Owen joined global online travel company Expedia and spent three years as Market Manager working with all hotels in the Asia-Pacific region. In early 2006, she moved to Singapore to join Intel as Regional Travel Manager for Greater Asia, where her regional team sourced and managed all aspects of travel throughout the region. Owen’s responsibilities then changed to Global Sourcing Manager – Lodging and Immigration. In January 2008, she moved to MSD Pharmaceuticals as Travel Manager, Asia-Pacific and Japan.
Owen will begin her three-year term on the ACTE Board in January 2009.
