Alexandria, Va. --
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has named Kerin McKinnon, Executive Vice President of Atlas Travel International, as its U.S. Regional Chair, and charged her with developing the Regional Champion program. The ACTE Regional Champion program is designed to actively engage regional members, and increase ACTE membership.
Ms. McKinnon will work closely with Bruce Finch, ACTE U.S. Regional Board Member and Director, Global Travel and Workplace Sustainability Programs for Autodesk, Inc.
Mr. Finch and Ms. McKinnon are actively seeking current ACTE members to fill the roles of Regional Champions throughout the U.S. Regional Champions will work to ensure that local issues and voices are heard.
“ACTE relies heavily on the contribution of volunteers to make education pertinent to local markets,” Richard Crum, ACTE President, said. “We welcome Kerin McKinnon to the association’s leadership, and look forward to her recommendations and insight. She will be an invaluable asset to the development of our education curriculum in the U.S.”
“I am honored to work with ACTE and its members, and to be a part of this exciting new program,” said Ms. McKinnon. “As a volunteer effort, the council looks forward to further expanding ACTE’s presence in the U.S., and being a conduit to ACTE in identifying the needs of the membership through a structured grassroots program. I know, as a group, we can and will positively influence the business travel industry.”
Some of the many goals set by the program are to identify and understand regional market needs, to support local programs, and create and distribute educational materials beneficial to members.
“My work with Kerin to build the ACTE Regional Champion program in the U.S. will be a benefit to our members, especially during these challenging economic times,” said Finch. “Companies are looking to effectively manage their travel budgets and are turning to ACTE for leadership and guidance. By bringing in professionals such as Kerin, we will help share our collective expertise and make ACTE member companies stronger, more effective and competitive.”
ACTE has representation in seven regions worldwide: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and the United States.
