Rome, Italy --
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) announced today that its 2009 Global Education Conference will be held in Prague, 25-27 October 2009, at the Hilton Prague Hotel.
“ACTE’s Global Education Conferences are known as the foremost education and business networking events of the year,” said Doug Weeks, ACTE President Elect. “These conferences attract the best of the best in the business travel industry, and continue to grow and evolve with the changing economy, while delivering superior education to all in attendance.”
ACTE has seen a significant growth in its membership in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, and Russia in the last few years. In April 2008, ACTE hosted its first event in Prague. The networking reception became the basis of a much broader discussion on the issues facing the business travel industry in the Czech Republic and Central Europe, a region which has seen a 190 percent increase in GDP per capita since 1999.
ACTE’s Global Education Conference program includes respected business leaders and keynote presenters, education seminars, roundtable discussions, industry perspectives and TransACTE.
In light of the current economic climate, ACTE’s educational programs in 2009 will have increased focus on financial issues relating to the corporate travel sector, including cost-cutting strategies, to help companies manage their corporate travel budgets effectively in response to challenging market forces.
The education agenda for the ACTE 2009 Global Education Conference in Prague will include:
• Procurement strategies for negotiating travel spend categories
• Policy and compliance relationship to savings
• Change management skills for the travel programme
• Value management – alignment of travel program with corporate strategy
• Strategic Meetings Management
TransACTE, which was officially launched at the ACTE Rome Global Education Conference, is a low-cost, environmentally-friendly alternative to industry trade shows. It is designed to provide exposure for companies with products and services to sell, without the expense associated with industry trade events.
ACTE’s vision and action has carried the industry through economic collapse, terrorism, pandemics, and other natural and manmade upheaval. Today, ACTE has members in more than 80 countries representing travel buyers, industry suppliers, travel management agencies, press, and government. ACTE has representation in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and the United States.
