The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) announced today that Arja Niilekselä-Tiainen, Corporate Travel, Meetings and Facility Manager for Cargotec, has accepted the role of ACTE Country Champion in Finland.
“We feel very privileged to have Arja Niilekselä-Tiainen as our Country Champion in Finland,” Caroline Allen, ACTE Regional Director, Northern & East Central Europe and Russia, said. “She has been a frequent speaker and moderator at domestic and international business travel events, and is a very welcomed member to our ACTE European Council Team.”

During her professional career, Niilekselä-Tiainen has built and managed global business travel programmes in a number of corporations including Sisu, Partek and KONE. At Cargotec, Niilekselä-Tiainen holds responsibility for Travel & Meetings in approximately 40 countries throughout EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, reporting to Global Sourcing.
Niilekselä-Tiainen was a Board Member for the Finnish Business Travel Association (FBTA) from 1993-2003, and Vice Chairman in 1999. In 2001, she was elected Chairwoman of the Association and, in 2004, was invited to become an Honorary FBTA Member. Niilekselä-Tiainen joined ACTE in1998 and is a regular attendee to ACTE Global Education Conferences. She functioned as co-chair for the historic first ACTE Helsinki Executive Forum held in 2000, and has been an invaluable and dynamic member of the Planning Committee for the third ACTE/FBTA partnered Executive Forum in Helsinki Thursday, 25 September 2008.
The Executive Forum, How to Evaluate and Develop the Value of Your Travel Management Program, will explore the importance of internal communications to drive an effective travel management program. This education event will provide a travel manager case study, corporate insight, academic research and suppliers’ perspective as it relates to the planning of future meetings and travel management strategies.
