The recent PowerTalk held in Rome by the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) on 22 April 2008, boasted 64 attendees, with more than half of the audience (51 percent) consisting of corporate travel buyers, one of the association's highest for an education event in Europe.
"Italy is an important growth region in Europe for the business travel industry, which ACTE has recognized for some time," Susan Gurley, ACTE Global Executive Director, said. "Our membership in this country has grown significantly in the last year, and we have received unprecedented support from regional corporates and suppliers. In fact, a dedicated team from Italy developed this PowerTalk, and is helping to design our upcoming Global Education Conference in Rome. We are grateful for their expertise and enthusiasm in bringing ACTE educational programs to Europe."
In response to ACTE's continued growth in Europe, the association has increased its resources in the region with additional staff. The current team now includes:

Balancing global insight with European vision, ACTE's biggest European event of the year, the Rome Global Education Conference, will take place 5-7 October 2008. Highlights of the conference include: the global economic outlook, the effect of immigrant populations in Europe, the U.S. war in Iraq and its impact on the world, corporate social responsibility, the state of the business travel industry, and many more topics of interest. Several of the speakers for the Rome conference currently live in Italy.
