Alexandria, Va -- Corrado Simontacchi from Huntsman Receives Prestigious Travel Industry Award
ACTE (Association of Corporate Travel Executives) Partner BATM (Belgian Association of Travel Managers) marked its fifth anniversary by awarding Corrado Simontacchi, Travel Purchasing Manager at Huntsman, its first ever BATM Travel Manager of the Year award. Simontacchi was especially praised for his innovative ideas on travel management, general involvement in BATM, and his professional collaboration with travel suppliers. The presentation was made during a gala event at the Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels, Belgium on Friday, Dec. 7th.
Fifty travel managers were nominated for the BATM Travel Manager of the Year award, and were chosen by travel suppliers (airlines, hotel chains, car rental companies, travel agencies, etc.) based on the following criteria: proactive and innovative role within travel management, professional persona, proven results, their approach to the travel suppliers, and involvement in BATM.
Upon receiving the award, Simontacchi said, “I want to thank the entire business travel community for their appreciation of my work. The travel Industry is going through some radical transformation, and this requires corporate buyers of travel business services to be highly skilled, innovative and creative to align their travel program to the reality of the new travel market. This is the only way to extract maximum value from travel budgets. To be considered as a reference in the market for travel management, and the winner of this prestigious award, is a real honour for me.”
Commented Nora Buysschaert, President of BATM, "BATM is an important platform for everyone involved in the travel industry. With us, you can exchange ideas and, even more so, learn about our industry by talking with academics and experts. With this award, we want to honour a special member and encourage other members to get in the running for next year.
