Munich --
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) honored Sabine Sehrt, Vice President, International Travel Management, Global Shared Services for Siemens, with the Advancing the Industry Award at the ACTE Global Education Conference, in Munich. The ACTE Advancing the Industry Award is presented to individuals who have shared a major contribution in innovative travel management, process development, or a major conceptual exchange between components of the travel management profession.
"This association takes pride in honoring leaders within the business travel community,” said ACTE President Richard Crum. “Sabine Sehrt has demonstrated initiative, creative problem-solving, and a commitment to advancing the industry by paving the way with her results... Results that have led to increased productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.”
Sehrt started with the goal of standardizing the global business processes in travel management, making sure that content and the business remained relevant for local business worldwide while respecting diversity in languages, cultures and technology within regional branches of Siemens. She created a six-point plan utilized by 250,000 travellers, using one global credit card programme, four preferred travel agency chains, and two online booking tools. At the same time, Sehrt created a cost cutting program, called “Move 25,” saving the company approximately €400 Million euros globally.
