Munich --
In an industry where every percentage point represents millions of dollars or is indicative of a developing trend, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) today reported that "buyer" attendance at it 's Global Education Conference in Munich reached 52% corporate buyer representation by company. According to ACTE 's Executive Director Susan Gurley, this reflects a growing reliance by the buyer membership on the association's neutral education platform.
"The ratio of corporate participants to supplier members at major business travel events is carefully weighed by any hosting association or organization," said Gurley. "Corporate participation is regarded as the 'gold standard' of the business travel industry. We attribute the increase of corporate representatives to several factors. These include a stronger emphasis on buyer-oriented educational sessions, attracting a greater number of corporate authorities as faculty, and always striving to include a corporate analysis of any new developments."
Structured like a small town meeting, one of the highest member-rated aspects of ACTE global education conferences are their compact nature, with direct access to speakers, leaders, and ranking experts among the membership. One of the greatest challenges facing ACTE's education team is gradually expanding the agenda to accommodate new and growing interests, without compromising the qualities that have generated enduring brand loyalty among ACTE members for 20 years.
ACTE's growing presence in Russia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and India during the past few years is certainly reflected in this year's attendance. Delegates from Russia and Croatia helped boost the corporate percentage this year, as did a strong contingent from the Middle East and Africa.
