Buenos Aires, ARG --
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) offered two significant education events in Mexico last week. Attendees at the Monterrey PowerTalk and Mexico City Executive Forum received “insider” information on advanced cost containment techniques and tighter travel policy controls. Over 200 travel managers and industry professionals participated in an interactive debate focusing on the best methods of achieving business intelligence and data management, impact of the web on buyer/supplier relationships and the value of alliances.
When reached for comment on the first business travel education event by ACTE in Monterrey, Mary Carmen of Cemex stated, “It’s relevant, it is important, no other international association has ever done this. People in this city are interested in new trends, and we like that ACTE took our market into account.” At the Monterrey PowerTalk, presenters Alejandro Medina, Sales Director, AirPlus Mexico, and Mary Carmen, Contraloria, Servicios de Viaje, Cemex, analyzed their experience with corporate travel policy making and the move from change management to the challenge of “humanizing” business intelligence.
Closely following Monterrey, on 27 October 2007, ACTE then hosted industry professionals in Mexico City, Mexico at the JW Marriott. This Forum featured a new model for education within the region. Corporations represented included, Televisa, Coca Cola de Mexico, Banamex, HSBC, Grupo Bimbo, Nissan, Henkel, Helms Briscoe, Deloitte, Grupo Modelo, Ford Motor Company, Novartis, and KPMG. While commenting on the curriculum offered, Elena Uribe with Grupo Modelo stated that she “most enjoyed the presentation concerning the value of alliances, Dr Alippe showed us with great transparency the long term strategies for a good partnership”
Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to win a free registration to the ACTE Global Education Conference in Munich, 21-23 October 2007. ACTE is pleased to announce the two winners: Enrique Chavez Vazquez, Coca Cola, and Rocio Acosta, Director of Operations, CTS.
