Alexandria, Va -- Richard Crum will be the first Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) President to officially address an educational event in Mexico, and to begin the ACTE’s fall education program in Latin America. According to a statement issued by Patricia Rasore, ACTE's Regional Director for Latin America, Crum will present opening remarks at the PowerTalk in Monterrey on September 25, 2007 and at the Executive Forum to be held in Mexico City on September 27, 2007.
"Richard Crum's presence underscores the importance of the Latin American region in ACTE's global network," said Rasore. "In his remarks, he is expected to address the changing role of the travel manager in Latin america, and the increasing significance of Mexico and Latin America to the world market." ACTE has maintained a presence in Mexico and Latin America for more than 5 years. In the past the three, the association has held multiple events in Argentina, Columbia, and Brazil.
"ACTE is the association that brings the programs directly to the membership in the cities where they live and work," said Rasore. "The Mexico City executive forum is designed to present participants with a new model for education. It will present theoretical data, an immediate solution to a problem, and a recommendation for advancing your career."
Themed "The Meeting of Like Minds," The Monterrey PowerTalk will focus on the transparency and origin of cost in the business travel industry presented by Alejandro Medina, Sales Director Airplus Mexico; and also cover the evolution of the travel policy, presented by Lic. Mary Carmen Venegas O. – Contraloria, Servicios de Viaje, Cemex. It will be held at the Courtyard Monterrey San Jeronimo, Av. San Jerónimo 1012, Col. The Mexico City Executive Forum is structured around three presentations:
• Travel Meets Web 2.0 -- This in-depth presentation will illustrate how the web has changed relationships between buyers and suppliers, offers challenges for the procurement specialist and the traveler, and magnifies the power of choice. It will be conducted by a panel of Rodolfo Silva, Latin America Director , GetThere; and Jean Paul Beer, CEO Netviax Solutions.
• Expense Management Review -- This session will analyze the industry’s efforts, on both the buyer and supplier side, for better management of data consolidation as well as provide a picture on new developments in the marketplace. The conducting panel will be Manuel Viñas, General Director, FCm Travel Solutions Mexico; and Maren Hanschke , Account Manager FCm Travel Solutions.
• The Value of Alliances: The Customer/Supplier Partnership -- Buyers and suppliers will each learn through this presentation the elements of the other's value equation -- and how to fill it. It will be presented by Dr. Alberto Arturo Alippe, Doctor in Economics, and moderated by Moises Aguinaga , Director National Accounts – Global Sales Organization Marriott International Inc.
The last session will be a roundtable discussion based on the preceding presentation.
