For Immediate Release
16 August 2007
Alexandria, VA -- Business travel management executives in Mexico will have two opportunities to obtain “insider” information on advanced coat containment techniques and tighter travel policy control this September. The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) will convene two educational events -- a PowerTalk in Monterrey (25 September 2007) and an Executive Forum in Mexico City (27 September 2007) -- covering a number of issues ranging from new web-based options to distribution challenges; and from identifying the value chain to the evolution of the corporate travel policy.
While ACTE has hosted numerous educational events in Mexico City during the last ten years, it is the the first time the association has brought its resources to Monterrey.
“ACTE’s policy is to conduct educational programs in cities with the highest concentrations of travel managers,” said the association’s Executive Director Susan Gurley. “Monterrey is a logical choice.” Gurley explained that ACTE’s objective is reduce travel time and expense for industry practitioners within a region. “Hence we hold smaller, more frequent events, closer to their offices.” The obvious advantage to this process is that travel managers within a specific region gain more exposure to ongoing developments as opposed to an annual industry review.
The Monterrey PowerTalk offers two sessions: “The Sources of Clarity” and “The Evolution of A Travel Policy.” The first will be presented by Alejandro Medina, Sales Director for AirPlus Mexico. It will explore the link between information sources and spend centralization in relationship to savings and effective operations. Lic. Mary Carmen Venegas O. Contraloria, Servicios de Viaje , Cemex, will conduct the second session, relying heavily on her personal success with encouraging policy compliance, instituting change management, and influencing traveler behavior.
The event will be held at:

Rodolfo Silva, Latin America Director, GetThere and Jean Paul Beer, CEO Netviax Solutions will serve on the panel.
