Alexandria, VA -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives is carrying its educational agenda to a higher level through a unique partnership with INSEAD -- one of the world’s most innovative and influential graduate business schools -- in a dynamic presentation on change management, at the ACTE Global Education Conference in Barcelona, 22-24 October 2006.
“INSEAD is an international educational institution perfectly suited to support ACTE’s global constituency,” said Executive Director Susan Gurley. “Furthermore, INSEAD’s reputation for inspiring MBA’s and PhDs is directly in line with ACTE’s efforts to gear educational programs to the most senior strata of the business travel management profession.”
INSEAD will be presenting a session titled, “ Learning By Playing “ For Change Management Competencies Development. This series of multimedia exercises simulates the situation of consultant(s) and/or manager(s) tasked with convincing a subsidiary's management team to adopt an Executive Information System (EIS) as a regular part of their work. The EIS Simulation is based on a synthesis of research in the field of organizational change, which in the simulation takes the form of:
• The four change phases (awareness, interest, trial and adoption) that change recipients always go through (though at differing speeds).
• The key organizational development tactics (such as face-to-face meeting, personal profile, management training, pilot test, etc...) that change agents actually use in the field.
• The dynamics and different forms of resistance to change that determine the effectiveness of the chosen change strategy.
“The primary objective is to provide participants in the EIS Simulation with new insight and skill in the theory and practice of change management,” said Gurley. “Attendees at this workshop will receive Certificates of Participation from INSEAD’s Centre for Advanced Learning upon completion of the programme.” According to ACTE’s executive director, the association is planning future relationships with other institutions of higher learning around the world as well.
INSEAD maintains two comprehensive and fully connected campuses in Asia (Singapore) and Europe (France), where 143 renowned faculty members from 31 countries instruct more than 880 MBA participants, 56 Executive MBAs, over 7000 Executives and 64 Ph.D. candidates. On both campuses, faculty conduct leading edge research projects with the support of 17 Centres of Excellence. The INSEAD-Wharton Alliance extends the reach of INSEAD business education and research across three continents. More information on INSEAD can be found at www.insead.edu.
