Alexandria, VA -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) announced the election of Alisa Bornstein, Peter Sijbers and Megan Stowe to the Board of Directors, with terms staring in January 2006. In the same statement issued by ACTE President Greeley Koch, it was also announced that Tony D'Astolfo was appointed to the board to complete the term vacated by the late Mary Kay Bellersen, as the U.S. Region's representative, and that Rick Robert had been re-elected.
"I'd like to thank these colleagues, and their companies, for contributing their time and talent to ACTE's governing process," said association President Greeley Koch. "It is their diverse expertise that continues to set us apart as a global association. They'll play a vital role in determining the direction we take and the impact we'll have on critical issues."
Alisa Bornstein, Sourcing Area Manager for Ericsson Group AB, is an 11-year travel industry veteran with a strong background in leading operational startups, initiating in-sourcing and out-sourcing strategy, policy and procedure, leading teams in travel management and procurement. She has additional expertise in procurement management, corporate travel management, consulting, HR, staffing, plus recruitment and educational services. Bornstein will be serving as a board member at large.
Rick Robert, Associate Director of Travel & Expense Management at Bell Canada Enterprise, has been with BCE for ten years and is responsible for a T&E; expense portfolio that exceeds $160 million annually. Prior to joining BCE, Rick worked for Pepsi Cola in the capacity of Corporate Purchasing Buyer (North America). He is currently an active member of ACTE, CBTA, and PMAC. Robert will again represent ACTE's Canada Region on the board.
Peter Sijbers, Global Commodity Manager for Phillips International BV, is a 25-year veteran of the travel management industry, with a distinguished career in travel management and procurement. He is the former chairman of Corporate Travel Association (Cortas) in the Netherlands, and is well-recognized presenter & keynote speaker on travel-related subjects during major industry events. Sijbers is currently serving as the association's EMEA Regional Chair, and was the recipient of ACTE's Advancing The Industry Award in 2004. He will serve as an ACTE board member at large.
Megan Stowe, Intel Global hotel Sourcing Manager and Asia/Latin America Sourcing Travel Manager, is responsible for the managing the performance and cost effectiveness of the travel program in Asia, Latin America and the Intel hotel program worldwide. She has worked for Intel in both marketing events management and procurement for 10 years in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore in both a regional and global capacity. She received ACTE's Asia-Pacific Advancing The Industry Award in 2005. She will be filling the Asia-Pacific Regional seat on ACTE's board.
Tony D'Astolfo, Vice President Travel Services for Rearden Commerce, is a 26-year industry veteran. Prior to joining Rearden in 2004, Tony served as Senior Vice President at Sabre-Holdings where he ran Sales and Consulting at GetThere. D'Astolfo enjoyed a 19-year career at United Airlines, holding senior sales and customer service positions in addition to his last assignment as United's National Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland. He is well-respected as an industry speaker and was recognized by ACTE with a 2005 Distinguished Fellow Award for exceptional achievement in an educational presentation. D'Astolfo is also a member of the Atlanta Global Education Conference Planning Committee.
