Singapore -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has recently joined as a trade association partner of The Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management (CNI). The partnership will offer executive education courses through the world-renowned CNI Professional Development Program (PDP) at a reduced rate -- 12 percent discount for ACTE Asia Pacific members in 2007 PDP courses. This partnership comes in direct accord with ACTE's commitment to industry related education and CNI’s dedication to higher education programs by combining Cornell School of Hotel Administration’s hospitality tradition with Nanyang Business School’s Asian business understanding.
The PDP, taught by internationally recognized Cornell University and Nanyang Technological University faculty members, industry executives, and expert consultants, offers sequences of specially designed courses, in prevailing management techniques. The program, designed for all levels of professional development – from fast-tracking young managers to seasoned executives, and owners of international resort chains. Participants earn certification that is recognized around the world in today's multifaceted, high-tech hospitality industry.
To earn certification, PDP participants are able to select courses in one or more of the many career specialties or choose from approximately fifty (50) intensive courses in any of the following seven areas of study:
1. Food, Beverage and Restaurant Management
2. General and Strategic Management
3. Human-Resource Management
4. Financial Management
5. Marketing
6. Operations Management
7. Property-Asses Management and Real Estate.
The Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management (CNI) PDP offers in person and online courses which can be completed in one year, or spaced out over two, three, or four consecutive years.
