Buenos Aires, ARG -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) participated in its first educational activity in Argentina at the Eye for Travel "Latin American Sales & Marketing in Travel" Conference on 28 November 2006, at Hotel Emperador in Buenos Aires. ACTE's participation, specially tailored for the Latin American constituency, is an opportunity to provide industry education to the ever growing Latin American travel industry which has been estimated to reach $228 billion USD by the year 2015.
Patricia Rasore, ACTE Latin America Regional Manager, made opening remarks at the ROI of the Corporate Travel Policy workshop, explaining that although the present corporate travel policy is somewhat fragmented , the vision for the future of the corporate program is the integration of all key components: technology, savings, safety & security, and travelers’ satisfaction . The workshop panel analyzed all aspects and focused on the new role of the Travel Manager to more strategic responsibilities within the corporation, such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Rasore commented, "The key to managing corporate travel is to learn how to harmonize what each corporation needs in terms of savings and traveler satisfaction, maximizing internal communication and maintaining the corporate travel policy as a leaving document. Integration is the future; it creates value for a corporation."
Hernan de la Campa, Latin America Regional Travel Manager with Oracle, later commented to Rasore, "I agree 100 percent with the integrated vision of the Travel Policy, we at Oracle, have 98 percent travel policy compliance."
ACTE additionally co-sponsored a luncheon in which Aitor Marin, the ACTE Latin America Regional Champion, encouraged Argentineans to start measuring the benefits of belonging to a professional executive travel association. Marin stressed the start of a new era filled with local corporate expectations and opportunities which the ACTE educational framework appropriately compliments.
