ACTE EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES
(Alexandria, Virginia, USA , September 12, 2001) - The Association
of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) an international organization
composed of senior level travel management professionals and suppliers
of business travel services wishes to express its heartfelt sympathy
to all in the travel industry affected by yesterday's tragedy.
In particular our thoughts are with the employees and families
of American Airlines, United Airlines, and our global corporate
members whose employees lost their lives in the downed flights
or had offices in the World Trade Center.
ACTE members will focus on the needs of their employees and their
families in the immediate future while making any necessary short-term
adjustments to travel guidelines. It is expected that yesterday's
tragedy will cause many corporations to closely scrutinize their
travel policy and make long term changes that further safeguard
the health and safety of their employees. ACTE stands ready to
support the industry and its members in these endeavors.
Founded in 1988, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives
is the only organization wholly dedicated to the science of business
travel management with an international constituency. ACTE membership
totals more than 2,400, including entities in Asia, Europe, Canada
and the United States. The organization is headquartered in Alexandria,
Va., and its web site is www.acte.org.
