ACTE Announces Keynote Presenters for October
Conference
(Alexandria, Virginia, USA , August 3, 2001) - The Association
of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) an international organization
composed of senior level travel management professionals and suppliers
of business travel services has announced its slate of keynote
speakers scheduled to present at the ACTE Global 2001 Fall Conference
in Munich, October 28-30, 2001. Ron Wagner, president of ACTE
said, "The conference keynote presenters provide diversity in
geographic representation and expertise. This conference will
feature both European and North American authorities from business
management, global politics, aviation industry, global travel
management and the future."
Kicking off the conference will be an address from Thierry Antinori
executive vice president of Sales from Lufthansa Airlines. Mr.
Antinori's presentation will tackle the aviation industry's global
dilemma concerning the myriad of restrictions that face players
in their quest to provide service to more cities and to increase
service on current routes. A predicament in which 'more concrete'
is increasingly becoming an unacceptable solution.
Former German Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and
current publisher of Die Zeit will speak at breakfast on Monday,
October 29. Chancellor Schmidt has been a leading European statesman
during the last half of the twentieth century. He is a recognized
authority on defence, foreign policy and economic decision making.
Schmidt was an early proponent of a single European currency.
The featured luncheon speaker on Monday afternoon will be Charles
Petroccelli, president of American Express Global Corporate Services
International. Mr. Petroccelli will discuss the future of global
travel from his unique perspective as an executive of a company,
whose core business is both global financial services and global
transportation.
Dr. Patrick Dixon, author and founder of Global Change, Ltd.
will focus on the future of business in his address to the ACTE
audience on Tuesday morning. Trained in medicine and information
science, Dr. Dixon will share the insights he has gathered through
conducting research for Fortune 500 companies and consulting for
corporate think tanks on policy and strategy implications for
the immediate future.
Rounding out the keynote presenters will be Henry Mintzberg,
noted authority on business management and most recently noted
author of a book aptly titled, "Why I Hate Flying: The Consequences
of Management". Mintzberg's discussion backed, by his considerable
experience, as an airline passenger will be a humorous and thought
provoking angle on the industry.
