Chairing IATA Advisory Board
(July
27, 2001, Alexandria, VA) The Association of Corporate Travel
Executives (ACTE), an international organization composed of senior
level travel management professionals and suppliers of business
travel services will chair the International Air Transport Association
(IATA) Advisory Board.
In view of ACTE's broad international travel management membership
and mission to promote understanding of important industry issues,
Ron Wagner, ACTE's president and Nancy Holtzman, ACTE's executive
director have been appointed to chair the IATA Advisory Board.
The goal of the Board is to oversee an independent and impartial
study of proposed changes to the Corporate Client Identification
Service (CCIS).
Propelled by the corporate travel management community's expressed
concern with the effectiveness of CCIS data privacy and clarity
of public information exchanged between corporates, airlines,
travel agents, GDSs and other third parties, this study will enable
the discussion of implementing revisions to the mutual satisfaction
of all parties involved.
Representatives
from key parties will be participants of the Board including ACTE
Board of Directors: Clive Armitage, senior manager - travel, meetings
& fleet purchasing of Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals; Marilyn Clifton,
EMEA travel manager of Oracle Corporation; Cheryl Hutchinson,
senior principal of AMS Corporate Travel and Mark Williams director
of travel, americas of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Also
contributing are Dan Baillie, travel manager of Block Drug Company;
Gabriel Eshaghian, manager global airline and car rental programs
of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; Dan Fenech, manager, agency and
corporate programmes of Delta Air Lines; Bernard Harrop, director,
corporate services-industry affairs of American Express; Scott
Laughlin, vice president, strategic partnerships group of Amadeus;
Michael Mulvagh vice president, industry affairs of American Express;
Frederick Sorensen head of the air transport policy division of
European Commission DG VII-Transport and Christine Yasaitis, worldwide
deals executive, global dealing of Delta Air Lines. Mike Muller
serves as secretary of the Advisory Board on behalf of IATA.
The
study is planned to be completed by the 4th quarter of the year.
