FOCUS:
- To facilitate an industry-wide discussion surrounding
the current airline financial crisis, and specifically, the
need for airfare structure reform. Without airline industry
recovery, rental car, hotel, GDS, Travel Management Company
and other sectors will not likely fully rebound.

- October 2003 - ACTE presents member survey results and analysis in the ACTE Global Business Journal - Fall 2003 issue, titled
"Air Fare Reform: Update"
- August 2003 - ACTE conducts member survey to assess
progress to date toward airfare structure reform as outlined
in its white paper.
- April 2002 - ACTE issues its white paper "The Need For
Domestic U.S. Airfare Structure Reform: A True
Customer-Supplier Partnership," at the ACTE Global
Conference in Montreal, The white paper includes:
- An analysis of the crisis facing the U.S. airline
industry
- A definition of airfare structure reform
- Evidence of the need for reform
- Where reforms are needed
- What customers are seeking
- Possible paths toward reform
- March 2002 - ACTE, in collaboration with the Business
Travel Coalition (BTC), conducts a comprehensive survey of
major U.S. buyers of commercial air transportation services
to obtain a detailed understanding of the marketplace today
and projections for 2003.
- January 2002 - ACTE issues its "Sense of the Industry
Report" outlining strategies for travel industry recovery.
The report identifies airline airfare structure reform as a
critical strategy for ensuring a return of business
travelers, in significant numbers and at profitable yields.
- September - December 2001 - ACTE conducts a series of
Industry Summits to identify strategies and ideas for travel
industry recovery following the tragic events of September
11.
