Venue Announcement Coming Soon
While the world recovers shakily from the wave of the 2008/09 economic crisis Australia's economy remained fairly solid. The US and UK economies were battered but this region but China, India and Australia stood steady. In Australia's case some analysts attribute its resilience to its mining industry and its 'isolation' from the worst affected economies.
"Reserve Bank deputy governor Ric Battelino says the global financial crisis is history and Australia's "very big" mining boom is here to stay." ABC News, by David Mark, 24 February 2010.
However this rosy scenario did not stop many companies from taking precautionary measures which included watching costs in categories governing business travel and corporate meetings/events. Now that the global economy is inching back into positive territories what are Australian companies doing with their travel programmes and will the MICE industry ramp up demand for travel?
Attend the 15th April Executive Forum in Sydney to hear what panels of Australian corporate buyers and suppliers have to say.

Reading the Signs of the TimesA recent AirPlus International/ACTE whitepaper examined the current travel management landscape to determine whether it will return to pre-recession conditions or if it is forever changed. According to respondents, many travel professionals are not anticipating a corrective swing of the pendulum. If that is true, then travel managers need to distinguish between cyclical conditions and permanent changes. We review this webinar, first aired in February and offer the local perspective of the changes shaping travel patterns for both business and meetings. This discussion, supplemented by other ACTE-initiated studies, reveals elements that may influence the decisions travel managers and meetings managers take with regards to managing financial and quality goals. |
