Business Travel - An Industry in Transition

December 14, 1999
Delta Bow Valley Hotel
Calgary, AB

It seems everyone is putting in longer hours than ever and the business travel industry is no exception. The challenge is getting your job done, while managing change from both external and internal forces with enough time remaining to look into your crystal ball and see what the winds of change will drop onto your desk in the next year. The Calgary Forum Planning Committee has planned a day of education that will help you stay abreast of the changes that are afoot in the swirling currents of Canadian business travel.

The agenda includes the following areas:
Professional development - Learn the most effective ways to communicate to your organization.
Travel Technology - Discover what technology solutions are available through discussion and hands on demonstrations
Benchmarking - Explore the fundamentals of benchmarking and why every travel program needs it
Keynote Presentation - Gain new insight on the aviation industry from a veteran senior executive.

The program includes breakfast, lunch and all study materials including handouts.

The Changing Technology in the Travel Industry

Technology is driving the travel industry as never before. Rolfe Shellenberger from Runzheimer will be on hand to guide the audience through a presentation of technology available in the marketplace today to help you determine what tools will work for your company. Hands-on demonstrations will be provided after the formal presentation and through out lunch.

Benchmarking

The corporate world has conducted benchmarking exercises for many years to gain a better understanding of its cost structures. By comparing costs to those of industry-alike companies of comparable size, corporations can better manage the cost side of finance. Learn how to apply this process to your travel program and discover how it performs against others in its class.
