10:40 a.m. - 11:20 a.m The impact of EC-rulings on corporate travel in Europe
Many of the major decisions affecting corporate travel within Europe today come from central EU policy. What motivates these decisions? Who and what contribute to the debates? How do the outcomes affect the corporate travel environment? Dr. Michael Gremminger, of DG Competition, the European Commission, will provide an in-depth insight on issues such as airline alliances, ownership, take off and landing slots, IATA agency programme, OPODO and more.
Presenter:
Dr. Michael Gremminger - DG Competition, Transport unit, European Commission

11:20 a.m. - 12:20 p.m

Reduction of distribution costs: the new wave, the new model
The UK business travel industry is once again in shock following British Airways' recent announcement that reservation fees will be further reduced from 1 June. Coupled with the fact that major airlines in the USA have now (as of 1 April) moved to zero compensation, the entire distribution model is in question.
These decisions will have a major impact on the corporate travel chain. How will corporate budgets be affected? What will the future role and compensation model for agencies look like? What is the regulatory impact due to existing IATA rulings?
Hear the views of our panel - each a representative of the three key stakeholders and share your concerns in the debate that will follow.
Panel includes:
Pearse Reynolds - American Express
Stephen Humphreys - British Airways
Corporate – TBC

12:20 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Networking Lunch & Table-top Exhibition
01:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. The impact of low-cost airlines in travel management programmes
Low cost airlines are here to stay. Corporations are increasingly looking at maximising the use of this new phenomenon in order to save costs.
Can companies really make use of these opportunities, however, without jeopardising the traveller’s business mission? How can corporate travel managers carry out a proper fare comparison between the GDS-fares and the internet-fares from the low-cost airlines? What are the consequences for corporate travel programmes without such vital standardised data?
Airline analyst Chris Tarry will set the scene for an animated debate from representatives of all sectors.
Presenter:
Chris Tarry - Head of Transport Research, Commerzbank Securities
Panel includes
Robin Ranken - Director of Sales & Marketing, Galileo International
Mark O'Brien - Country Director - UK, Rosenbluth International
Tom Stones - Director of Travel Management, Universal Music International

On the European Commission's agenda for 2002 is the revision of the existing CRS code of conduct. Questions such as who owns the data, what is the future of MIDT, what role does IATA play are just some of those that will have to be answered.
ACTE has been asked by the EC to participate in these discussions and the process of revising the CRS code of conduct.
Join this lively roundtable discussion on this crucial topic and make sure your opinion is heard and noted. ACTE will use the output and key points from this roundtable to contribute to future meetings with the European Commission.
