ACTE's Global Corporate Social Responsibility Program

ACTE members know that implementing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform into their core business strategy is good business, supports profitability, and effectuates positive social and environmental change. ACTE officially launched its CSR initiative as part of its global education curriculum in the fall of 2004, and since then has provided education on a variety of CSR-related programs to the business travel industry. ACTE was the first organization in the business travel industry to make CSR a key component of its business model and to hold both paper-less and carbon-low events. ACTE was also the first business travel industry association to introduce the issue of trafficking of women and children into its CSR curriculum. Now ACTE is taking the next step by working with the International Office of Migration (IOM) to discuss how the industry can tap into the migrant labor pool.

ACTE continues to innovate and push the business travel industry on integrating CSR policies into business travel programmes. In 2007, ACTE started the green leaf designation to help highlight those companies who have developed green technology tools for the business travel industry. In 2008, ACTE launched TransACTE as an environmentally preferable alternative to traditional trade shows.

ACTE wants to ensure that our industry is part of the green economy and supports just business and socially responsible practices. We welcome your input on the types of CSR-related topics that interest you. To offer your suggestions for topics, please contact Kate Farrell at [email protected].
