A leader wouldn't hesitate to answer these questions:

  2. Could you serve as an industry ambassador to government and commerce?
  3. Are you willing -- or do you know someone who'd be willing -- to direct the business travel industry?
ACTE's greatest strength is the global character, vision, and reputation of its leaders. This association is looking for leaders who can communicate, who can spark dialogue and debate, and who can inspire others around the world to act in a collective effort.

The price of leadership is relatively small in time, patience, and creativity, while the rewards -- recognition by national and international business media, certain elevation within the industry, and inevitable notice by other corporations looking for leaders of their own -- are high. An ACTE leadership role is best played by those who see themselves as rising.

The ACTE Nominations Committee is seeking three industry professionals who can pay that price and rise to the responsibilities of recognition.

Other requirements are:
  • Term of Office: Three years (January 2004 to December 2006)
  • To be a member in good standing
  • Able to meet time commitment (four quarterly meetings annually)
  • Previous volunteer or leadership experience preferable
  • Has attended one ACTE Global Conference and Executive Forum in the last year
  • Has company support
Responsibilities include:
  • Taking an active role in the direction of the association
  • Pursuing responsible association governance
  • Providing committee oversight
  • Anticipating the needs of the membership and industry
