Alexandria, VA --
The Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) appointed Angela Naegele, Vice President Global Procurement for Reed Elsevier, Inc., as Treasurer-Elect. A 16-year travel industry veteran, Naegele starts her term as Treasurer-Elect effective immediately. She has been a member of ACTE since 1996 and has a long and distinguished history with the association, having previously served on the Board of Directors, the Washington, D.C. Global Education Conference Planning Committee, and as an ACTE Ambassador to the industry. She has also served on two ACTE Executive Director Search Committees.
“ACTE is very appreciative of Angela volunteering her time and energy to serve in a leadership role with the association,” said ACTE Treasurer Greeley Koch. “These are exciting times for ACTE and despite the constraints of a delicate global and industry economic recovery, members are coming forward to volunteer, to support, and to drive the industry and association forward – Angela is a perfect example of this.”
Naegele currently holds the position of Vice President, Global Procurement for Reed Elsevier. She joined Reed Elsevier, Inc., one of the world’s leading media companies, in December 2007 to assist in the creation of a centralized Global Procurement Organization. Naegele assembled and staffed global teams to support Travel, Meetings/Events/Exhibitions, Marketing, and Supplier Diversity. Prior to her current position, she spent almost two years at IBM in Business Transformation Outsourcing (BTO), and over 12 years in senior management positions at AT&T in Global Procurement. Naegele holds a BA in Economics and International Business Management from North Carolina State University.
“I look forward to working with the Board of Directors as well as the Finance Committee over the next few years,” said Naegele. “I am grateful to ACTE for giving me the opportunity to contribute once again.”
As Treasurer-Elect, Naegele immediately begins a period of familiarization -- participating in leadership discussions that involve the direction of the association and matters of finance. Her term as Treasurer will begin on 19 May 2010 and run through 31 December 2011.
